These terms are an agreement between you and Nexlr Private Limited, which runs TrueKin. By creating an account you agree to them and to our Privacy policy.
If you live in the European Union, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada or another country with consumer protection laws, nothing in these terms takes away rights those laws give you.
You must be 18 or over to have an account. Give us accurate details and keep your sign-in safe; turn on two-step sign-in if you can. You are responsible for what happens in your account.
Tell us at support@truekin.app straight away if you think someone else has used it.
You own everything you keep in TrueKin: your words, photos, voice notes and videos. You give us a limited permission to store, encrypt, process (for example, to make a thumbnail) and deliver it, only to run TrueKin for you. That permission ends when you delete it, except for copies already delivered to the people you chose.
Until a memory is delivered you may edit or delete it. Once delivered, its content isn’t changed by us or by you. A memory sealed as a time capsule can’t be opened or edited before it is delivered, except by you through an emergency unseal, which takes effect after a seven-day wait.
Only keep what you have the right to share. When you add a child or another person, you confirm you are their parent or guardian, or have a good reason and their permission to keep their details and likeness here.
Don’t use TrueKin to harass, threaten, deceive or harm anyone; to share anything illegal, including content that sexualises children; to break someone else’s rights, such as copyright or privacy; or to attack, overload or reverse-engineer the service.
Don’t report a passing that hasn’t happened or submit a false document. That can be a crime, and we will close the account and may tell the authorities.
If you see something that breaks these rules, report it to support@truekin.app. We may remove content or suspend an account that breaks them, and we’ll tell you why unless the law or someone’s safety stops us.
The Free plan costs nothing. The Family plan is billed monthly or yearly at the price shown before you pay, including any tax. Payments are handled by Dodo Payments, which is the seller of record for your purchase and may add sales tax, VAT or GST where required.
Paid plans renew automatically until you cancel. Before a yearly plan renews, we email you with the date and price. You can cancel any time in Settings, Subscription. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep the plan until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
We don’t give refunds for part-used periods, except where the law requires it or where we have made a mistake. If you live in the EU or the UK, you may cancel within 14 days of your first payment for a full refund by writing to us.
If we change a plan’s price, we’ll tell you at least 30 days before it applies to you, and you can cancel before then.
Very large accounts are subject to a fair-use limit. We’ll contact you before anything changes.
We deliver each memory by email at the moment you choose, to the address you give us. Memories you’ve scheduled still arrive if you stop paying or move to the Free plan.
A delivery set for when you can’t be there is released only after one of your guardians confirms it, or after our team has checked a reported passing. Nothing is released only because time has passed.
We do our best to deliver on the day, but delivery depends on things outside our control, such as an email address that no longer works or a provider rejecting our mail. Keep recipients’ addresses up to date.
TrueKin is not a will, and it doesn’t replace legal, financial or estate planning advice. What you keep in For My Family is passed on as information only; it does not transfer property or rights. Please keep a valid will.
If we ever decide to close TrueKin, we will tell you at least 90 days before, give you a full export of everything you kept, and send every scheduled memory to its recipient early (with a note explaining why), unless you tell us not to.
You can delete your account at any time in Settings. We wait 30 days in case you change your mind, then remove what you kept, except memories already delivered (they belong to their recipients now) and, if you chose, memories still scheduled to arrive. Copies in our backups are overwritten within a further 30 days.
We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, or where the law requires it. Unless we can’t, we’ll tell you why and give you a chance to export your memories first.
We provide TrueKin with reasonable care and skill. We are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or our negligence.
Otherwise, and as far as the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and US$100, and we aren’t responsible for indirect losses or losses caused by things outside our reasonable control.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.
If you are in Australia: our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service you are entitled to cancel and to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value. You are also entitled to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
If something goes wrong, please write to grievance@truekin.app first; most things can be sorted out quickly.
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living elsewhere, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country and may bring a claim in your local courts.
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we’ll email you at least 30 days before the change takes effect. If you don’t agree, you can cancel and export your memories before then.
